AHA Women's Players of the Week (Sept. 29-Oct. 5, 2025)

Delaware's Charlton earns the program's first-ever AHA weekly honor.

BOSTON - Atlantic Hockey America (AHA) announced its women's weekly awards on Tuesday for games played from Sept. 29 to Oct. 5, 2025.

Four institutions were represented, with players from two programs (Penn State and Syracuse) having served crucial roles in a weekend sweep.

PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

Forward: Peyton Armstrong, SO, Syracuse (Bancroft, Ontario)

Defenseman: Leah Stecker, SR, Penn State (Randolph, N.J.)

Goaltender: Magdalena Luggin, SO, Mercyhurst (Vienna, Austria)

Rookie: Katelynn Charlton (F), FR, Delaware (Brampton, Ontario)
 

FORWARD OF THE WEEK

Armstrong played a vital role in Syracuse earning its first win and sweep of the season, outscoring Stonehill on the road 11-4. The Orange won in the series finale 8-2, and scored their most goals in a single game since Nov. 25, 2022 (10-0 win vs. Post).

The Bancroft, Ontario native tied for the AHA lead in points last week after tallying four (2G-2A). The sophomore forward netted was one of five AHA skaters to net a power play goal last weekend, and tied for the AHA weekend lead in shots (10).

Armstrong was named AHA Rookie of the Week on Feb. 24, 2025. This is the second overall AHA weekly honor for the Orange forward.
 

DEFENSEMAN OF THE WEEK

Penn State earns its second weekly award winner of the season, with Stecker earning her first AHA Defenseman of the Week honor.

The Randolph, N.J. native tied for the points lead among AHA blueliners last week with three (1G-2A), and is tied for the most in the same category with five (1G-4A) posted so far this season. Stecker was plus-3 in the sweep at Vermont.

Five points is tied for the third-most among defensemen in the nation.
 

GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK

Luggin earns her third career AHA Goaltender of the Week honor, and fourth weekly award overall, after helping the Lakers split a series with then-No. 10/10 St. Lawrence in Erie, Pa.

The Vienna native posted a 1.51 goals against average and a .942 save percentage, both second in the conference last week. Luggin made 25 saves in her first shutout of the season, a 1-0 Mercyhurst win over the top 10 opponent on Friday, Oct. 3.

The sophomore netminder has made 152 saves this season, the second-most in Division I.
 

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

The Blue Hens have their inaugural AHA weekly honor in Charlton, who scored her first collegiate goal last week, and led AHA with three overall last weekend.

The Brampton, Ontario native scored twice on Saturday, Oct. 4, and potted the game-winner on Sunday, Oct. 5, when Delaware took its first victory in program history 2-1 over Holy Cross at Fred Rust Ice Arena in Newark, Del.
