BOSTON - Friday marked the third day of Atlantic Hockey America (AHA) teams competing in games during Thanksgiving week.
Air Force began the second period trailing 0-2 at Canisius. However, the Falcons struck twice to make it a 2-2 game. In the third period, Air Force scored four straight goals after once again falling behind.
Despite no Falcon scoring more than once, junior forward Mason McCormick recorded three assists.
Robert Morris made the trip from the Pittsburgh metro area to Erie, Pa., to take on Mercyhurst. The Colonials scored the first goal of the contest and allowed the Lakers to tie the game with the middle frame's only goal.
However, in the third period, Robert Morris scored twice, including once on the power play. Different Colonials scored all three goals.
(RV) Sacred Heart opened the day in the conference's first-ever appearance in the Friendship Four in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
After freshman forward Gavin Bryant opened the tournament's scoring, the Pioneers allowed eight consecutive goals and fell 1-8 to No. 20/(RV) Union.
(RV) RIT skated in the second game of the day in Northern Ireland and was shutout, allowing two goals to (RV) Miami (OH) in both the first and third periods to fall 0-4. This is only the second time that the Tigers have been shutout this season.
The pair of AHA teams is set to compete against each other tomorrow at 3 p.m. local time in Belfast and 10 a.m. ET in the tournament's consolation game.
Niagara was downed by visiting RPI 1-4 on its home ice on Friday evening.
