BOSTON - Atlantic Hockey America (AHA) announced its November Players of the Month on Monday.
Three programs were represented with three first-time honorees.
Forward: Matt DeBoer, SR, Holy Cross (Las Vegas, Nev.)
Defenseman: Chris Hedden, SR, Air Force (Kalamazoo, Mich.)
Goaltender: Dominik Wasik, JR, Air Force (Superior, Colo.)
Rookie: Lukas Swedin (G), Bentley (Stockholm, Sweden)
DeBoer earned his first-ever AHA monthly honor after tying for the November conference point lead with 12 (6G-6A) through seven games played.
The Las Vegas native's 12 points were tied for the fifth-most nationally last month, and his three power play goals were tied for the fourth-most in Division I (also led AHA). Twelve points is tied for the most tallied by an active Holy Cross skater in one month.
Two of DeBoer's six November goals served as game-winners as he helped push Holy Cross to a 6-1-0 record last month. DeBoer also netted his first career hat trick, where he scored all three goals in the third period of a 6-7 overtime loss at No. 8/8 Quinnipiac on Wednesday, Nov. 26.
Hedden was tied for the national lead among defensemen last month with 11 points (5G-6A) through nine games.
The now four-time AHA Defenseman of the Month was near the national lead in several categories among blueliners in November. This is the third time that Hedden has tallied 10+ points in a single month throughout his career.
The Kalamazoo, Mich. native was one of two Division I defensemen to net a shorthanded goal, as he did so in a 4-1 win at Sacred Heart on Nov. 7. Hedden played a key role in the Falcons posting a 6-2-1 record during November.
Wasik takes his first-ever monthly honor after finishing near the top of the ranks for AHA netminders last month.
The Superior, Colo. native was between the pipes all month for Air Force and posted a 6-2-1 record through nine games. In November, Wasik finished fourth among AHA goaltenders (min. 33% of team minutes played) with a 2.31 goals-against average and a .920 save percentage.
The first-time AHA Goaltender of the Month also led the conference with 241 saves, the only one to post 200+ saves in the conference.
Swedin becomes the first goaltender to earn AHA Rookie of the Month since Army West Point's
JJ Cataldo in November 2024. The freshman posted a 5-1-0 record in the net for Bentley last month and ranked third in AHA (min. 33% of team minutes played) with a 1.82 goals-against average and a .930 save percentage.
