Hedden named HCA Co-Defender of the Month for November 2025

Hedden is the first-ever AHA blueliner to be named HCA Defender of the Month.

BOSTON - The Hockey Commissioners Association (HCA) named Air Force senior Chris Hedden a Co-Defender of the Month on Thursday for his performance in November 2025.

The Kalamazoo, Mich. native joins Minnesota State's Evan Murr and Denver's Eric Pohlkamp as a trio of blueliners named Co-Defenders of the Month.

Among all Division I defensemen, the reigning AHA Defenseman of the Month tied for the points lead with 11 (5G-6A). Hedden also netted two power play goals in November and was one of six blueliners to score shorthanded last month, doing so in a 4-1 win at Sacred Heart on Friday, Nov. 7.

The last Falcon to earn an HCA National Monthly Honor was Jacques Lamoureux (October 2008). The last AHA skater to garner monthly recognition from HCA was former Army West Point defenseman Mac Gadowsky (February 2025).

HCA had not recognized Defender of the Month honorees until 2025-26, making Hedden the first-ever AHA honoree.

Air Force begins the final two-game series of 2025 when it hosts Robert Morris, with the first contest taking place on Friday, Dec. 5, at 7:05 p.m. MT.
