BOSTON - Atlantic Hockey America (AHA) announced its Players of the Week on Tuesday for games played between Dec. 1-7.
Three programs were represented with one first-time honoree.
PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
Forward: Julia Schalin, SO, Mercyhurst (Espoo, Finland)
Defenseman: Emma Pickering, JR, RIT (Fishers, Ind.)
Goaltender: Maggie Hatch, R-JR, Robert Morris (Cleveland Heights, Ohio)
Rookie: Julia Perjus, R-FR, Mercyhurst (Stockholm, Sweden)
FORWARD OF THE WEEK
Schalin earned her second AHA weekly honor of 2025-26 after she netted her second career hat trick in Mercyhurst’s 10-1 victory on Friday, Dec. 5, over Lindenwood in Erie, Pa.
The Espoo, Finland native finished second in points with five (3G-2A) in two games played against the Lions.
In the Lakers’ nine-goal win, Schalin added a helper on top of her hat trick to total four points. In the second contest of the series, the sophomore added an assist.
DEFENSEMAN OF THE WEEK
For a second consecutive week and third time this season, Pickering is AHA’s Defenseman of the Week.
The Fishers, Ind. native finished second in points among AHA blueliners with four (2G-2A).
RIT swept Delaware and outscored them 9-4 in two games, with Pickering adding two points in each game. On Friday, Dec. 5, Pickering scored twice and tallied two assists the following day.
GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK
Hatch went 1-0-1 last week in two games to earn her second weekly honor of the current campaign.
Among AHA goaltenders (min. 33% of team minutes played), the Cleveland Heights, Ohio native led the conference with a 0.96 goals-against average, a .975 save percentage and 78 saves.
The redshirt junior was the sole AHA netminder to record a shutout last week, making 36 saves in a 1-0 win on Saturday, Dec. 5 at Syracuse.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Perjus’s first-ever AHA weekly honor comes after she finished tied with five points (1G-4A), the second-most in the conference last week.
In the Lakers’ 10-1 win on Friday, Dec. 5, the Stockholm, Sweden native tallied a career high four points (4A) in a single game.
