WORCESTER, Mass. - A pair of Atlantic Hockey America (AHA) programs met on Thursday night as Holy Cross hosted Army West Point.
6:04 into the first period, the Black Knights got on the board as sophomore forward
Adam Marshall opened the scoring.
The visitors held a 1-0 lead into the first intermission, but Holy Cross knotted things 1-1 in the middle frame and then took a lead within the first five minutes of the third period.
As the Black Knights trailed 1-2, junior forward
Vincent Salice was able to find the back of the net and even things 2-2 11:38 into the final frame.
Salice’s game-tying goal was the final scored in the 60:00 of regulation, and the contest was forced into overtime.
Junior forward
Nik Hong took down the Crusaders 1:55 into the extra period of play, when he buried the game-winner on a friendly roll to make the score 3-2.
Army West Point sophomore netminder
JJ Cataldo made 35 saves in the winning effort.
