FAIRFIELD, Conn. - No. 2 Sacred Heart blanked No. 3 Robert Morris in a 5-0 game three victory on Sunday at Martire Family Arena to advance from the Atlantic Hockey America (AHA) semifinals to the conference’s title game.
The Pioneers will take on No. 1 Bentley for the 2026 AHA championship on Saturday, March 21, in Waltham, Mass. Next week’s championship will be both programs’ third appearance in the contest, the first time since 2010 for Sacred Heart.
In the final game of the semifinals, Sacred Heart potted three goals in the first period. The scoring opened on the power play off the stick of senior forward
Marcus Joughin.
The home team sealed the win with two goals in the final frame, extending its lead to 5-0.

Reid Pabich and sophomore defenseman
Michael Rubin each scored twice in the win. Joughin (1G-2A) and freshman forward
Gavin Bryant (3A) each tallied three points in the game.
Sacred Heart sophomore goaltender
Ajeet Gundarah recorded a season high of 36 saves in the win.
