ALBANY, N.Y. - Bentley’s season came to a close on Friday after it fell 1-5 to top-seeded Michigan (Big Ten) in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament at MVP Arena.
As a result of the loss, the team's tournament run ended in Albany.
The Falcons fell behind on the scoreboard after Michigan potted the game's first goal 9:49 into the opening frame.
The lone remaining Atlantic Hockey America (AHA) program in 2025-26 had four power play opportunities but failed to convert in the contest. The Wolverines scored once on the man advantage with their first of two goals in the second period.
Michigan won the shots on goal battle 29-25, but Bentley took more wins from the dot, going 30-27 in faceoffs. Bentley senior forward
Jake Black tied for the lead in the game with four shots on goal.
Sophomore defenseman
David Helledy found the back of the net with under 30 seconds remaining in the third period to give Bentley its only goal of the night.
