Two Atlantic Hockey America (AHA) teams – Penn State and Mercyhurst – are featured in the women's national preseason polls released this week by USCHO.com and USA Hockey.

Penn State, the preseason favorite in the conference and the four-time defending AHA champions, check in at No. 4 in the USCHO.com poll and No. 5 in the USA Hockey poll.

Mercyhurst is 15th in the USCHO.com poll and one spot higher, 14th, according to USA Hockey. The Lakers finished second in the conference behind Penn State and were picked in the same position in the conference's preseason coaches' poll.

Both teams' 2026-27 seasons get underway this weekend. Mercyhurst hosts RPI for a two-game series in Erie, Pa., that fans can watch on FloHockey. Penn State hosts RIT for a Friday scrimmage in preparation for a two-game home series next weekend against Ohio State, which is No. 2 in both preseason polls.
