Evan Maldonado enters his second season as Digital Media Manager for Atlantic Hockey America in 2025-26. His duties include social media management, graphic design, videography, content creation and other communications tasks. 

Maldonado joined Atlantic Hockey America after serving as the Assistant Director of Graphic Design for the athletic department at UT Arlington. He produced social media content and packages for athletic teams while adhering to and upholding brand guidelines. He also created marketing materials such as promotional giveaways, t-shirts, banners and signage across campus. 

Before his time at UT Arlington, Maldonado spent two seasons at the University of South Dakota as an Assistant Sports Information Director. He was responsible for social media management of athletic accounts, produced creative content for assigned teams and maintained the athletic website. He was the main point of contact for various programs, including men’s basketball, and traveled with and documented the men’s basketball seasons. Other duties included writing press releases, post-game recaps, updating media guides and game notes and developing relationships with media members. 

In the summer of 2021, Maldonado held the position of Communications Assistant for the Wichita Wind Surge during their first season in Wichita. He ran the social media account, clipped in-game highlights, designed graphics and maintained the website of the AA affiliate of the Minnesota Twins. 

While obtaining his master’s degree, Maldonado served as the Sports Information Graduate Assistant for the Fort Hays State athletic department for two years. He performed various game day duties, including statistical inputting and updating social media accounts. He also created graphics for social media content creation and oversaw interviews with NCAA coaches and student-athletes. 

Maldonado also volunteered with the Big 12 media department during the 2019 Big 12 Baseball Championship tournament in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He also has internship experience with the Kansas City Monarchs and Kansas City’s professional women’s soccer team. 

A native of Hutchinson, Kansas, Maldonado graduated from Central Christian College of Kansas with a bachelor’s degree in Sports Management in 2019 and went on to earn his master’s degree from Fort Hays State University in Sports Administration in 2021. He currently resides in Salina, Kansas, with his wife, Marleigh and daughter, Baker.
