October 4, 2024 - The Atlantic Hockey America men's season is officially underway, and two teams were in action on Friday night. Mercyhurst hosted Bowling Green, and Air Force hosted Arizona State.

Bowling Green 2 at Mercyhurst 1 Box Score
- Sophomore Boris Skalos scored the first goal of the season for Mercyhurst. Mickey Burns picked up an assist on the play and put a team-high five shots on goal.
- Sophomore goaltender Simon Bucheler stopped 25-of-27 shot attempts for the Lakers.
- The Lakers out-shot the Falcons 33-27 and recorded 16 blocks on the night.

- Senior Clayton Cosentino scored the first goal of the season for the Falcons, finding the back of the net in the 2nd period on an assist from sophomore Nolan Cunningham.
- Sophomore Brendan Gibbons led Air Force with five shots on goal. He also blocked three shots, which was tied for the team lead with Cunningham.

About Atlantic Hockey America
Atlantic Hockey America (AHA) embarks on its first season in 2024-25 after the merger between the Atlantic Hockey Association and College Hockey America. The conference fields 11 men’s teams (American International College, Bentley University, Canisius College, The College of Holy Cross, Mercyhurst University, Niagara University, Rochester Institute of Technology, Robert Morris University, Sacred Heart University, the United States Air Force Academy, and the United States Military Academy), and six women’s teams (Lindenwood University, Mercyhurst University, Penn State University, Rochester Institute of Technology, Robert Morris University, and Syracuse University).
