Mercyhurst and RIT face ranked opponents following sweeps last weekend.

BOSTON - Atlantic Hockey America (AHA) returns to action in week three, where five of seven programs hit the road for non-conference action.

  • Freshman defenseman Linnea Misner's four points (1G-3A) tied a program record for the most in a collegiate debut.
  • RIT earned a sweep to open the season for a second consecutive year.
  • The Tigers lead the nation with seven power play goals this season, three more than the second-most. Different skaters scored all seven.
  • Robert Morris's 70 percent faceoff winning percentage leads all teams, and sophomore forward Jessica MacKinnon's 37 faceoff wins are the second most nationally among players with two games played or fewer.

Earning Their Stripes

RIT swept Post to open the season for a second consecutive year and outscored its opponent 10-1.

The Tigers head to Matthews Arena in Boston and face No. 14/14 Northeastern for the first time since they tied 2-2 on Oct. 11, 2014. The last time RIT took down a ranked opponent was when it topped No. 7/6 Colgate 4-2 at Gene Polisseni Center in Rochester, N.Y.
 

Lake Effect

(RV) Mercyhurst returns to Erie, Pa., this weekend for another top 10 opponent in No. 10/10 St. Lawrence. The Saints make their second straight road trip to a Pennsylvania-based AHA program after being swept by the Nittany Lions last weekend in University Park, Pa.

The last time the Lakers hosted the Saints, the two teams split two games in November 2022. Over the last four matchups at Mercyhurst Ice Center dating back to 2021-22, Mercyhurst is 2-1-1.
