AHA Women's Players of the Week (Oct. 20-26)

Robert Morris's MacKinnon and Schooley, Syracuse's Drabyk and Penn State's Fantin honored with AHA weekly awards.

BOSTON - Atlantic Hockey America (AHA) announced its Players of the Week on Tuesday for games played between Oct. 20-26.

Three programs were represented, with at least two athletes coming from the same program for the third straight week.

PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
Forward: Jessica MacKinnon, SO, Robert Morris (Clark's Harbour, Nova Scotia)

Defenseman: Kaitlyn Schooley, JR, Robert Morris (Moon Township, Pa.)

Goaltender: Ava Drabyk, FR, Syracuse (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan)

Rookie: Matilde Fantin, F, FR, Penn State (Como, Italy)

FORWARD OF THE WEEK
MacKinnon tied for the AHA lead with six points (3G-3A), playing an integral role in Robert Morris's sweep of Delaware, where it outscored the Blue Hens 5-0 in both games.

No AHA forward has tallied more in a single week this season than the Clark's Harbour, Nova Scotia's six. Additionally, no active Colonial has tallied more than four points in a single week until last week.

This marks the second AHA honor of the season and overall for MacKinnon.

DEFENSEMAN OF THE WEEK
Schooley earned her first-ever AHA Defenseman of the Week accolade following a three point (3A) weekend, skating in both games to aid Robert Morris in its road sweep of Delaware, in her first collegiate meeting against her sister and freshman blueliner Taylor Schooley.

The Moon Township, Pa. native's three points are the most that she has tallied in a single weekend, the most in a single week by a Colonial defenseman.

GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK
This is the second consecutive week that Drabyk has earned an AHA honor, the first time in her career as Goaltender of the Week.

The distinction comes after the Saskatoon, Saskatchewan native appeared in two games and posted a 1-1-0 record in a home-and-home series against RIT, a .919 save percentage, a 2.57 goals-against average, and finished second in the conference with 57 saves.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Fantin tied MacKinnon in both the AHA points lead last week and for the most points in a single week this season after recording six (2G-4A) through two games in No. 6/6 Penn State's sweep of Lindenwood at Pegula Ice Arena.

The Como, Italy native notched the same thing in both games as she notched three points (1G-2A) and potted her first career game-winner on Friday, Oct. 24 in a 6-1 win.

Among freshmen this season, the Nittany Lions' forward is tied for the second-most points in a single week and is one of six freshmen to record six or more points in seven days.

This is Fantin's second overall AHA honor this season, but her first as Rookie of the Week.
