BOSTON, Mass. – The Atlantic Hockey America (AHA) Board of Directors announced today that Commissioner
Michelle Morgan has received a four-year contract extension to continue leading the conference through the 2029-30 season.
“We are excited for Commissioner Morgan to lead Atlantic Hockey America into the foreseeable future,” said
Jason A. Coomer, Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics at Lindenwood University and the 2026-27 Chair of the Atlantic Hockey America Executive Committee. “Her steady leadership has positioned the conference to quickly adapt to the tremendous changes taking place across college athletics while, at the same time, providing a clear vision for where the conference needs to go in the future.
“She has done an outstanding job strengthening the AHA brand and, importantly, bringing the men’s and women’s programs together under one unified conference identity,” Coomer added. “That alignment is critical not only to the continued growth of the AHA, but to the broader college hockey landscape. Commissioner Morgan’s leadership and vision will continue to be an important part of moving our sport forward.”
Morgan joined the conference in 2023 and enters her fourth year as Commissioner in 2026-27. Her tenure has been highlighted by the merger of the Atlantic Hockey Association and College Hockey America and the establishment and growth of the new Atlantic Hockey America brand.
“I am grateful for the confidence of our Board and the opportunity to continue serving as Commissioner of Atlantic Hockey America,” said Morgan. “I’m proud of the progress we have made: bringing two leagues together, establishing a new brand and creating greater operational efficiencies that position AHA for continued growth. The 2026-27 Atlantic Hockey America season begins September 18 for the conference’s seven women’s programs and October 2 for its nine men’s programs. The 16 teams in the conference represent 14 institutions.
