Nittany Lions hold Blue Hens to a program record one shot on goal in third straight sweep, and RIT avoids a sweep.

BOSTON - No. 6/6 Penn State earned the first sweep of a conference opponent this season on Saturday to close out Delaware's inaugural Atlantic Hockey America (AHA) series with a 7-0 victory.

A pair of Nittany Lion forwards, sophomore Grace Outwater and senior Maddy Christian, each scored three goals this weekend. Christian is currently tied for the fifth-longest active point streak in the nation at six games in which she has tallied eight points (5G-3A). Outwater is tied for the second-most goals (6) in Division I.

Penn State held Delaware to a record one shot on goal on Sunday, on a day where the visitors racked up 69 shots on goal (second-most this season nationally). Freshman goaltender Maddy Campbell made her collegiate debut between the pipes for the Nittany Lions on Saturday. Today, Penn State had three different multi-goal scorers.

Delaware junior netminder Mattie Robitzer made 62 saves on Saturday, the second-most in a game this season.

RIT avoided a sweep in its AHA-opening series as it topped Robert Morris 5-1 in Moon Township, Pa. Junior forward Addie Alvarez led the Tigers in her second multi-point (3) game of the campaign, scoring once and adding two helpers.

RIT's 19 goals through six games are tied for the eighth-most in Division I women's hockey.

Lindenwood split its series against Merrimack of Hockey East after a 1-3 loss in Maryland Heights, Mo. Sophomore forward Hannah Dods potted the lone goal for the Lions.

Freshman forward Emma Gnade found the back of the net for the third time this season, but it served as the only goal for the Orange. Syracuse fell 1-5 and was swept by No. 7/7 Quinnipiac of ECAC Hockey.
