BOSTON - All seven Atlantic Hockey America (AHA) programs competed on Friday, with six of the programs matching up in conference series.
No. 6/6 Penn State continued its dominant run since the season began in late September. Lindenwood opened the scoring on a shorthanded goal, but the Nittany Lions responded with one of their own. After breaking the scoring open with four in the middle frame, Penn State secured a 6-1 victory at home.
Sophomore forward Nicole Hall had her first three-point game (2G-1A), and senior forward Tessa Janecke also netted two goals in the effort. The senior captain has scored in six straight games, tying the longest such streak of her career (Oct. 15-Nov. 4, 2022).
This is the second game this season to feature an AHA program (the first conference matchup) in which both teams scored a shorthanded goal.
(RV) Mercyhurst hosted No. 8/9 UConn in Erie, Pa. Freshman forward Berlin Lolacher scored 4:45 into the opening period. The Lakers held a 1-0 lead until 5:24 into the final frame, and that was the final goal of regulation.
The game went to overtime, but neither team could score. Ultimately, the final box score shows a tie, but the Huskies unofficially won the shootout 2-0. Sophomore goaltender Magdalena Luggin made 37 saves between the pipes.
Syracuse scored in each period, but pulled away from RIT when it potted three in the second period to hold a 4-0 lead heading into the final 20 minutes.
The Tigers cut the lead in half to 4-2 halfway through the third period, but senior blueliner Sami Gendron hit an empty net to secure a 5-2 Orange victory on the road.
Sophomore forward Peyton Armstrong tallied a career high four points (1G-3A), just the seventh Syracuse skater to record four since 2020-21.
Sophomore forward Jessica MacKinnon had her second three-point game of 2025-26 after scoring once and adding two helpers to lead the Colonials in a 5-0 shutout win at Delaware, their first time blanking a team this season.
Redshirt sophomore netminder Lucy Phillips made 13 saves in the effort to record her first collegiate shutout.
