Penn State blanks Cornell in a top 10 battle.

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - No. 4/4 Penn State closed out the 2025 portion of its schedule on Tuesday at Pegula Ice Arena with a 1-0 victory over ECAC Hockey’s No. 10/10 Cornell.

55:36 of a 60-minute contest was scoreless. Three combined power play chances through the first 40:00 were shut down by the pair of programs’ penalty kills.

Following a major penalty for hitting from behind against Cornell, freshman forward Matilde Fantin was able to serve as the game’s hero and netted the game-winning goal on the power play with 4:24 remaining.

Senior goaltender Katie DeSa made a season high 35 saves to reclaim sole possession of the most shutouts in the nation after recording her seventh of the season.

Penn State has claimed four victories over top 10-ranked opponents in 2025-26, and closes out the calendar year with an 18-1 record (9-0-0 on home ice).
