BOSTON - Five Atlantic Hockey America (AHA) programs competed on Saturday to complete the first weekend of action in the new year.
Lindenwood struck first on an early goal from freshman forward
Tatiana Blichova 49 seconds into the opening frame.
Mercyhurst netted one and evened the score at 1-1 almost 10 minutes later. Beyond the first 12 minutes of regulation, neither team found the back of the net, and overtime was forced.
In overtime, sophomore blueliner
Abby Poitras took down Lindenwood with a goal 4:58.4 into the 5:00 period. Mercyhurst escaped Lindenwood with a 2-1 overtime victory and a series sweep of the Lions.
Freshman
