BOSTON - Atlantic Hockey America announced its Players of the Week on Tuesday for games played between Dec. 29, 2025-Jan. 4, 2026.
Four athletes from four programs earn the first weekly honors of 2026, including two first-time winners.
PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
Forward: Brent Keefer, JR, Army West Point (Colorado Springs, Colo.)
Defenseman: Chris Hedden, SR, Air Force (Kalamazoo, Mich.)
Goaltender: Petter Wickström Stumer, SO, Canisius (Stockholm, Sweden)
Rookie: Evan Konyen, R-FR, F, RIT (Newmarket, Ontario)
FORWARD OF THE WEEK
Keefer earns his second-ever weekly conference honor after playing a big role in Army West Point’s 5-2 upset over then-No. 12/12 Northeastern on Friday, Jan. 2.
The Colorado Springs, Colo. native was able to take one shot, but made it count as he found the back of the net to cement a victory in the Black Knights’ first contest of the new calendar year.
The junior forward has netted three goals in his last two contests, both were non-conference matchups. Keefer has scored three goals in two games on only one other occasion in his collegiate career, back in January 2025.
DEFENSEMAN OF THE WEEK
Hedden claims his fourth straight Defenseman of the Week award, and fifth of the 2025-26 campaign after leading AHA in points last week with five (1G-4A).
The Kalamazoo, Mich. native was one of two Division I blueliners to tally five points last week, accumulating the points in both contests at the 2025 Cactus Cup in Tempe, Ariz.
In Air Force’s 82 victory over Michigan Tech on Friday, Jan. 2, Hedden notched four points (1G-3A), his second career game with four.
GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK
Wickström Stumer only appeared in one game last week, but made his mark in between the pipes, recording 72 saves, which set a new AHA and Canisius single-game record.
The Stockholm, Sweden native became the first netminder in AHA history to reach the 70-save mark in a contest. Additionally, the Golden Griffins’ sophomore was the first Division I men’s goaltender to record 70+ in a game since the 2014-15 season.
Canisius’s netminder stopped 72 of 75 shots on net in a 4-3 win over Lindenwood.
This marks Wickström Stumer’s first AHA weekly honor.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Konyen tallied three points (3G) through three games last week. Of the three times the freshman found the back of the net, none came up larger than what would ultimately serve as the game-winning goal in RIT’s 1-0 upset of then-No. 8/9 Penn State.
The Newmarket, Ontario native scored 6:28 into the opening period of the upset victory in Rochester, N.Y. on Saturday, Jan. 3.
The freshman forward also struck twice in a 2-3 loss at Clarkson on Monday, Dec. 29.
