AHA Men's Players of the Week: Oct. 5-11, 2026

Three sophomores and a freshman capture weekly honors.

BOSTON – Three sophomores and a freshman, representing four schools, captured this week’s Atlantic Hockey America (AHA) men’s player of the week honors.

PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
Forward of the Week: Landen Gunderson, Sacred Heart
(So., Plymouth, Minn.)
Defenseman of the Week: Quinn McCall, Holy Cross (So., St. John, Ind.)
Goaltender of the Week: Lukas Swedin, Bentley (So., Stockholm, Sweden)
Rookie of the Week: Jack Lisson, Canisius (G, Oakville, Ont.)

FORWARD OF THE WEEK
Landen Gunderson scored his first two collegiate goals in Sacred Heart’s 6-3 win against Penn State on Saturday. Gunderson started the scoring for the Pioneers, helping them build a 3-0 lead, then provided the game-winning goal at 9:17 of the third period after Penn State had tied the score at 3-3.

An Ohio State transfer, Gunderson made his Sacred Heart debut Friday night against Bowling Green. He will face his former team this weekend.

This marks Gunderson’s first career AHA weekly award.

DEFENSEMAN OF THE WEEK
Quinn McCall sparked Holy Cross’s comeback win on Friday night at Arizona State when he scored with just 1:26 remaining in the third period. He remained on the ice for the Crusaders’ game-winning goal just 11 seconds later.

McCall added an assist on Saturday. He led all skaters with four blocked shots in Friday’s game and added a fifth on Saturday, finishing the weekend with a +1 rating.

McCall, who earned his first career AHA weekly award, is the second Crusader in as many weeks to be honored (last week’s Forward of the Week was Matt Kursonis).

GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK
Lukas Swedin posted his third career shutout as Bentley opened its season with a 3-0 victory against Vermont Friday night. Swedin made 24 saves in the first two periods and 30 for the game, helping Bentley’s penalty kill defend three shorthanded situations.

It marks Swedin’s fourth career AHA weekly honor after earning Goaltender of the Week twice and Rookie of the Week once last season.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Last week’s Goaltender of the Week, Jack Lisson earns the nod as the league’s top freshman this week. He made a season-high 33 saves in a 3-2 victory Friday night at Long Island, then came on in relief Saturday and stopped 22 of 23 shots.

Lisson leads the nation’s freshmen goaltenders in games played (four) and wins (two, tied) and ranks second in goals-against average (0.90) and save percentage (.966).
