BOSTON - Six Atlantic Hockey America (AHA) programs competed in series finales on Saturday, with No. 4/4 Penn State, No. 15/15 Mercyhurst and Lindenwood completing sweeps against conference opponents.
ROBERT MORRIS VS. NO. 4/4 PENN STATE
The Nittany Lions completed a sweep of their Pennsylvania-based AHA foe with a 5-2 win over the visiting Colonials.
Robert Morris jumped out to a 2-0 lead, which it held only until the 2:40 mark of the second period, when Penn State tied it 2-2. The home team eventually took the lead for good during the middle frame.
Different skaters scored all seven goals in the contest. Four Nittany Lions recorded multi-point efforts.
NO. 15/15 MERCYHURST VS. DELAWARE
Mercyhurst went into the first intermission after a scorching offensive opening frame. The Lakers potted three goals in the first 20:00, and added two more before Delaware scored its sole goal of the contest in the third period.
Two of Mercyhurst’s goals came on the power play and both off the stick of senior defenseman
Payten Evans.
RIT VS. LINDENWOOD
For a second straight day, Lindenwood outscored RIT by four on its home ice. On Saturday, the Lions earned a 5-1 sweep-clinching victory.
Junior forward
Zsofia Pazmandi scored twice for the Lions, and sophomore blueliner
Ellie Muscedere tallied a career-high four assists in the win.
