UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - No. 3 Penn State fell 3-4 in overtime to No. 2 Wisconsin in front of a Women’s Frozen Four record crowd of 5,176 at Pegula Ice Arena on Friday.

The host team’s season ended with the national semifinal loss.

Senior forward Tessa Janecke got the Nittany Lions on the board with her first of two goals on the power play 1:52 into the opening frame. The Badgers got on the board in the first 20:00, but Abby Stonehouse gave Penn State a 2-1 lead into the first intermission.

After Wisconsin netted the first two goals of the middle frame in a near eight-minute span, the Badgers flipped the script and took a 3-2 lead into the final frame.

In the third period, Penn State trailed for 15:01 until Janecke found open ice and potted one with a breakaway goal to tie things up and force overtime.
