Robert Morris' Zacher, Kochendorfer, Wilson, and Sacred Heart's Adamson Earn AHA Player of the Week Honors

Quartet recognized for performances during games Oct. 17-20

BOSTON, Mass. - October 21, 2024 - Atlantic Hockey America is proud to honor four student-athletes as AHA Players of the Week for their outstanding on-ice performances in games of Oct. 17-20, 2024. This week's winners are Robert Morris sophomore Walter Zacher (Forward), Sacred Heart junior Mikey Adamson (Defenseman), Robert Morris freshman Croix Kochendorfer (Goaltender), and Robert Morris freshman Trent Wilson (Rookie).

AHA FORWARD OF THE WEEK
Walter Zacher, So., F, Robert Morris

Robert Morris sophomore forward Walter Zacher scored four goals on nine shots in two games against Miami (OH) this week. Zacher scored one goal in RMU's season opening 5-1 win on Thursday, Oct. 17 before notching his first career hat trick in RMU's home opening win on Saturday, Oct. 19. In his hat trick, the Buffalo, N.Y. native scored goals in all three periods of RMU's 4-1 win, while notching the game-winning goal at 13:05 of the 2nd period. His four goals are a team-high for the Colonials through two games.

AHA DEFENSEMAN OF THE WEEK
Mikey Adamson, Jr., D, Sacred Heart

Sacred Heart junior defenseman Mikey Adamson tallied three points on two goals and one assist in SHU's weekend split with (15/17) Massachusetts. In Friday's 4-3 upset road win, Adamson had an assist on Paul Minnehan's 2nd period goal and then scored the game-winning goal of 0:26 in the 3rd period. Then on Saturday, the Quincy, Mass. native put home a power play goal at 16:26 of the 2nd period. Through four games this season, Adamson is tied for the team lead in points with five on two goals and three assists. 

AHA GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK
Croix Kochendorfer, Fr., G, Robert Morris

Robert Morris freshman goaltender Croix Kochendorfer made an immediate impact for the Colonials this weekend. Kochendorfer led the Colonials to a sweep of Miami (OH) by making 48 saves on 50 shots for a save percentage of .960. The St. Paul, Minn. native earned his first career win in his collegiate debut on Thursday, Oct. 17 by making 23 saves in RMU's 5-1 win. He then made 25 saves in Saturday's 4-1 win. He also produced his first career point with an assist in Saturday's win.

AHA ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Trent Wilson, Fr., F, Robert Morris

Robert Morris freshman forward Trent Wilson scored two goals and dished out an assist for three points in RMU's two-game sweep of Miami (OH). In Thursday's season opener, Wilson scored the first two goals of the season for the Colonials at 4:29 and 15:39 of the 1st period. He then added an assist on RMU's third goal of the year, scored by Trevor Ledonne at 0:57 of the 2nd period. Wilson won 11-of-16 face-offs in Saturday's 4-1 win, and fired six shots on goal and blocked two shots on the weekend. The Tsawwassen, B.C native leads all RMU rookies in points with three through two games.
