BOSTON - To begin November, three Atlantic Hockey America (AHA) series finales were held on Saturday, with two sweeps and one split.
(RV) Mercyhurst took down Delaware 4-0, holding the Blue Hens scoreless in game two and allowing only two goals throughout the Blue Hens' inaugural road series. Four Lakers netted all four goals, and four Mercyhurst skaters recorded multi-point efforts in the contest.
Senior forward Sophie McKinley added an assist to extend her point streak to three games, the longest this season (and active) among all Lakers. Freshman goaltender Tara Bach had her second career shutout, making 10 saves in the game.
Junior forward Addie Alvarez led RIT's scoring surge with her first career hat trick. This is the second time this season an AHA skater has scored three times in a game, as the Tigers beat visiting Lindenwood 7-1 to split the series.
The duo combined for 70 shots on net. The Tigers took the edge there, putting 40 on goal. Three Tigers each had three points in the effort.
No. 6/6 Penn State rallied behind senior forward Maddy Christian, who scored twice for the second time this season and added a helper to round out a three-point game. The Nittany Lions earned another road sweep after they beat Robert Morris 4-0.
Senior Katie DeSa earned her fifth shutout of the season, which is tied for the Division I lead. The Nittany Lions have shutout opponents in three straight games.
