WORCESTER, Mass. - (RV) Holy Cross was the sole Atlantic Hockey America (AHA) program to compete on Thursday in one of two Division I men's contests as it hosted Alaska Anchorage.
The independent Seawolves struck first at 6:22 of the opening period.
After the first goal, Alaska Anchorage found itself on the wrong side of four straight and found itself down 4-1 to the hosting Crusaders.
Senior forward Timothy Heinke netted the first Holy Cross goal of the evening with only 33 seconds remaining in the first period.
The Crusaders ultimately ran away and downed the Seawolves 7-2 behind seven different goal scorers. Five Holy Cross skaters had multi-point games, and senior forward Matt DeBoer led his squad with a career high of four (1G-3A).
Junior goaltender Connor MacKenzie made 21 saves in his fourth win of the season.
