RIT's Aquaro, Pickering, Coe, and Syracuse's Armstrong Earn AHA Player of the Week Honors

Players recognized for performances during the quarterfinal round of the AHA Postseason Tournament

BOSTON, Mass. - February 24, 2025 - Atlantic Hockey America is proud to honor four student-athletes as AHA Players of the Week for their outstanding on-ice performances in games during the quarterfinal round of the AHA Women's Postseason Tournament. This week's winners are RIT senior Kylie Aquaro (Forward), RIT sophomore Emma Pickering (Defenseman), RIT senior Sarah Coe (Goaltender), and Syracuse freshman Peyton Armstrong (Rookie).

AHA FORWARD OF THE WEEK
Kylie Aquaro, Sr., F, RIT
RIT senior Kylie Aquaro led the Tigers to a 4-0 win over Lindenwood in the quarterfinals by orchestrating a three-point effort on a goal and two assists. Aquaro opened the scoring with a goal at 6:20 of the 1st period, which would prove to be the game-winner. She then assisted on Kailey Favro's power play goal at 5:43 of the 2nd period. Later in the 2nd, Aquaro assisted on another goal from Favro, this time at even strength, at 18:51 of the middle frame. Hailing from Yardley, Penn., Aquaro is now up to 10 goals and 20 assists for 30 points in 2024-25. This is Aquaro's first AHA Forward of the Week honor this season. 

AHA DEFENSEMAN OF THE WEEK
Emma Pickering, So., D, RIT

Emma Pickering helped RIT advance to the semifinals by picking up a pair of assists in Saturday's 4-0 win over Lindenwood. Pickering dished out a power play assist on Linda Rulle's goal at 12:42 of the 1st period to give the Tigers a 2-0 lead. She then assisted on Kailey Favro's 2nd period tally to give RIT a 4-0 lead. In addition, Pickering blocked three shots on the day. The Fishers, Ind. native now has 11 goals and 11 assists for 22 points on the season. This is Pickering's fourth AHA Defenseman of the Week honor this season, with the previous three coming on Oct. 21, Nov. 25, and Dec. 9.

AHA GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK
Sarah Coe, Sr., G, RIT

RIT goaltender Sarah Coe stopped all 25 shots she faced in the quarterfinal round against Lindenwood. Coe made six saves in the 1st period, nine in the 2nd period, and was strong down the stretch making 10 saves in the 3rd period to earn the shutout victory. The shutout was the fourth of the season for Coe, and the fifth of her career. The Brooklin, Ont. native is up to 11 wins on the season, and boasts a .925 save percentage to go along with a 2.26 goals-against average. This is the second AHA Goaltender of the Week honor for Coe this season, with the first coming on Oct. 14.

AHA ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Peyton Armstrong, Fr., F, Syracuse

Syracuse freshman Peyton Armstrong propelled the Orange to the semifinals by providing the game-winning goal in double overtime in the quarterfinal round vs. Robert Morris. Armstrong potted the game-winner at 2:01 of the second overtime frame. Maya D'Arcy assisted on the play. The heroic goal continued Armstrong's recent hot streak, as she now has five points on two goals and three assists in her last five games. On the season, the Bancroft, Ont. native is up to five goals and nine assists for 14 points. Armstrong also fired three shots on goal on Saturday, bringing her season total to 65. This is Armstrong's first AHA Rookie of the Week honor this season.
