UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Penn State senior forward and captain
Tessa Janecke has been named to the 2025-26 CCM/AHCA Women’s University Division All-American First Team, it was announced on Saturday by the American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA).
The Orangeville, Ill. native has been named a Second Team All-American twice, but this marks the first time in Penn State program history that a skater has been named to the First Team.
During the 2025-26 season, Janecke is averaging 1.55 points per game, tallying 48 (26G-22A) through 31 games, which leads Atlantic Hockey America (AHA). The 2026 Olympic Gold Medalist’s nine power play goals this season are tied for the second-most in Division I.
Among all skaters who have played in 31 games or fewer this season, Janecke’s 26 goals rank fourth, her 22 assists rank sixth and she has the fourth-most points in the group with 45.
Janecke became Penn State’s all-time leading scorer in program history on Jan. 18, 2025.
In the national semifinal contest against Wisconsin on Friday night, Janecke became one of only eight skaters since 2020-21 to reach 200 career points, ending her time at Penn State with 201 (89G-112A) in 145 games.
During her senior campaign, Janecke was named one of three finalists for the 2026 Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award, presented annually to the top player in NCAA Division I women’s ice hockey.
