Atlantic Hockey America Announces 2025-26 Women's Schedule

AHA league play begins on Oct. 10

BOSTON, Mass. - June 4, 2025 - Atlantic Hockey America has announced the schedule for the 2025-26 season. The full composite schedule can be found HERE. Dates and times are subject to change.

The battle for the AHA regular season title will begin on Oct. 10 with the first slate of AHA conference games. The regular season wraps up on Feb. 14, with postseason play beginning on Feb. 19.

Delaware Joins Atlantic Hockey
The University of Delaware is set to begin its first season as a Division I program in 2025-26. The Blue Hens open their inaugural Division I season on Sept. 26 vs. LIU. The first AHA conference game for Delaware comes on Oct. 10 vs Penn State. The Blue Hens are lead by Allison Coomey, who was named head coach on March 26, 2024. Coomey spent the previous seven seasons at Penn State, serving as an assistant coach for three seasons before being promoted to associate head coach in 2020-21.

Penn State Looking for Fourth Straight Title
Three-time defending regular season and postseason champion Penn State opens its season on Sept. 26 vs St. Lawrence. Jeff Kampersal's squad will face three 2024-25 NCAA tournament teams in 2025-26. The Nittany Lions will host St. Lawrence (Oct. 10-11), travel to 2024-25 NCAA Runner-Up Ohio State (Jan. 2-3), and play Cornell on Dec. 30 at PSU and Jan. 20 at Cornell.

Championship Game Rematches
Last season, Mercyhurst and Penn State met in the AHA title game on March 8, 2025, with Penn State prevailing in a 4-1 win. The Lakers and Nittany Lions will meet four times during the 2025-26 regular season: Oct. 17-18 at Penn State, and Jan. 9-10 in Erie.

Mercyhurst Heads to Nashville
Mercyhurst finished second in the AHA regular season standings last season, earning 42 points in 20 conference games. The Lakers open their 2025-26 campaign on Sept. 19 vs Minnesota Duluth, and begin AHA play on Oct. 17 at Penn State. MU will travel to Nashville Nov. 28-29 to face Stonehill and defending national champion Wisconsin.

Syracuse Hosts Minnesota Duluth in Opener
Syracuse's season begins on Sept. 25 vs Minnesota Duluth. The first conference game for the Orange will come on Friday, Oct. 17 at Delaware. Other non-conference matchups for the Orange include road tilts at Stonehill (Oct. 3-4), home games against Quinnipiac (Oct. 10-11), Cornell (Oct. 28), and RPI (home-and-home Nov. 28-29).

RIT Travels to Northeastern and Colgate in Non-Conference Slate
The RIT Tigers open their 2025-26 season on Sept. 26 vs Post. Other non-conference opponents for Celeste Brown's squad include going to Northeastern (Oct. 3-4), hosting St. Lawrence (Oct. 16-17), and traveling to Colgate (Nov. 7-8). RIT will begin AHA play on Oct. 10 at Robert Morris.

Lindenwood Welcomes St. Thomas in Home Opener
Lindenwood begins the 2025-26 campaign on the road at St. Cloud State on Sept. 19. The Lions will then return home to host St. Thomas on Sept. 26-27, before going back on the road to face Minnesota State University, Mankato on Oct. 3-4. AHA play begins for Lindenwood on Oct. 24 at Penn State.

Robert Morris Hosts RIT to Begin AHA Play
The Robert Morris Colonials host Assumption on Sept. 26 to open the 2025-26 season. In non-conference action, Logan Bittle's squad will host Assumption (Sept. 26-27), RPI (Nov. 14-15), and LIU (Dec. 12-13), and will travel to Bemidji State (Oct. 3-4) and Yale (Oct. 17-18). RMU will host RIT on Oct. 10 to begin AHA conference play.

2026 Atlantic Hockey America Women's Postseason
The chase for the Robert DiGregorio Cup will include all seven Atlantic Hockey America teams. The postseason will open with a first round game on Thursday, Feb. 19 between the No. 6 and No. 7 seeds at the site of the No. 3 seed. The winner will advance to the single-game quarterfinal round which is slated for Feb. 21. The No. 3 seed will host the winner of the first round game, while the No. 4 seed will host the No. 5 seed.

The quarterfinal winners will advance to the semifinals with the lowest remaining seed traveling to the No. 1 seed and the second-lowest remaining seed visiting the No. 2 seed for a best-of-three-series from Feb. 27-March 1.

The AHA postseason will conclude on March 7 when the two semifinal winners meet at the home of the highest-seeded semifinal winner for one game to determine the 2026 AHA postseason champion. The winner of the AHA postseason tournament will claim the conference's automatic qualifier into the NCAA Tournament.
