Game Highlights
Worcester, Mass. – Army West Point scored two power-play goals and got 17 saves from JJ Cataldo (Stuart, Fla.) to beat Holy Cross, 3-1, and complete the weekend sweep of both teams’ first conference series.
Barron Woodring (Downers Grove, Ill.) opened the scoring with his second power-play goal in as many days just 3:33 into the first period. Freshman defenseman Noah Mertz (Coventry, R.I.), who assisted on Woodring’s goal, added a power-play goal of his own in the second period. Ben Ivey (San Diego, Calif.) assisted on both goals.
Holy Cross’s Matt Kursonis (West Boylston, Mass.) cut the lead to 2-1 nearly nine minutes into the third, but Catalado made every stop from there and the Black Knights added a third goal in the final minute.
