Game Highlights
Maryland Heights, Mo. – Lindenwood scored the first two goals of the game and senior Eva Filippova (Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia) stopped 40 Robert Morris shots to lift the Lions to a 2-1 victory Friday afternoon and a split in the two-game series.
The Lions – who had been shut out in three of their last four games and four of their last six – got even-strength goals from Grace Rentmeester (Wrightstown, Wis.) and
Michaela Paulinyova (Bratislava, Slovakia) in the first two periods. It was the first goal of the year for Rentmeester and the second for Paulinyova.
Robert Morris fired 32 shots on Filippova after falling behind 2-0, and Jessica MacKinnon (Clarks Harbour, N.S.) pulled the Colonials within a goal early in the third period but they could get no closer. Lindenwood snapped a seven-game losing streak with the victory.
