Sacred Heart's Trudeau, Mercyhurst's Sambrook, AIC's Clark, and RIT's Krbecek Earn AHA Player of the Week Honors

Quartet recognized for performances during games Oct. 11-12

BOSTON, Mass. - October 14, 2024 - Atlantic Hockey America is proud to honor four student-athletes as AHA Players of the Week for their outstanding on-ice performances in games of Oct. 11-12, 2024. This week's winners are Sacred Heart junior Felix Trudeau (Forward), Mercyhurst sophomore Trent Sambrook (Defenseman), AIC junior Chase Clark (Goaltender), and RIT first year Jakub Krbecek (Rookie).

AHA FORWARD OF THE WEEK
Felix Trudeau, Jr., F, Sacred Heart

Sacred Heart junior forward Felix Trudeau scored three goals and added an assist in SHU's two-game weekend series at Colgate. Trudeau scored twice, once on the power play, in his Sacred Heart debut on Friday night, and mixed in an assist as well. His two goals came in back-to-back fashion at 0:34 and 2:16 in the 2nd period. Then on Saturday, he scored another goal in SHU's 3-3 (OT) tie. On the weekend, the Terrebonne, Que. native fired 10 shots on goal, which led the way for the Pios.

AHA DEFENSEMAN OF THE WEEK
Trent Sambrook, So., D, Mercyhurst

Sophomore defenseman Trent Sambrook picked up three assists over the weekend for Mercyhurst. He had two assists in Friday's 4-2 win over RIT, and followed it up with another assist, this time on the power play, in Saturday's contest. He also had a pair of blocked shots over the weekend. The Medora, Man. native recorded 13 points for the Lakers last season as a freshman.

AHA GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK
Chase Clark, Jr., G, AIC

In AIC's 2000th game as a program, junior goaltender Chase Clark made 47 saves in AIC's 3-3 tie at (RV) Ohio State. On the day, Clark turned aside 47 of the 50 shots he faced, good for a save percentage of .940 in 65:00 between the pipes for the Yellow Jackets. The Williamsville, N.Y. native stopped 15 shots in the 1st period, 13 in the 2nd period, and 14 in the 3rd period. He then turned aside all five shots he faced in overtime, and four of five in the shootout. 

AHA ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Jakub Krbecek, Fr., G, RIT

RIT first year goaltender Jakub Krbecek stopped 31 shots to earn the victory at Mercyhurst on Saturday. On the day, Krbecek stopped 31-of-33 shot attempts for a save percentage of .939. He won his second-straight game without allowing an even-strength goal, only allowing a power play tally in the 1st period, and another with the Lakers skating 6-on-4 in the closing minutes of action. The Prague, Czech Republic native owns a .940 save percentage and a 2.00 GAA through two games this season, and has now earned AHA Rookie of the Week honors in back-to-back weeks.
