AHA Men’s Players of the Week (Jan. 5-11, 2026)

Bentley’s Black and Swedin, and Sacred Heart’s Ellis and Kendrick, were honored with AHA weekly awards.

BOSTON - Atlantic Hockey America (AHA) announced its Players of the Week on Tuesday for games played between Jan. 5-11, 2026.

Two programs were represented with three first-time honorees.

PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
Forward: Jake Black, SR, Bentley (Pomfret, Conn.)
Defenseman: Noah Ellis, SR, Sacred Heart (Urbandale, Iowa)
Goaltender: Lukas Swedin, FR, Bentley (Stockholm, Sweden)
Rookie: Teagan Kendrick, G, Sacred Heart (St. Albert, Alberta)


FORWARD OF THE WEEK
Black earned his first-ever AHA weekly honor after tying for the conference lead in points last week with five (3G-2A) in two games played.

The Pomfret, Conn. native outright led AHA last week with three goals, and recorded two multi-point efforts in Bentley’s sweep at Air Force.

In a 5-1 win on Friday, Jan. 9, Black tallied a season high three points (1G-2A). The following evening, in a 3-1 victory, Black accounted for two of the Falcons’ three goals in the sweep-clinching performance.

DEFENSEMAN OF THE WEEK
Ellis finished second among AHA blueliners in points last week with three (2G-1A) and skated in both games of Sacred Heart’s road sweep of Niagara.

The Urbandale, Iowa native netted a goal in both contests and recorded his first multi-point game of the season and as a Pioneer with two (1G-1A) in a 4-2 win on Saturday, Jan. 10.

This week marks Ellis’s first career AHA weekly award.

GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK
Swedin claimed his second AHA Goaltender of the Month honor of the season and his career after leading the Falcons to a sweep between the pipes.

The Stockholm, Sweden native led the conference (min. 33% team minutes played) with a 1.00 goals-against average and a .971 save percentage in two games.

Bentley’s freshman netminder made a career high 38 saves on Friday, Jan. 9, and 67 saves total in the series. Swedin allowed only one goal in each contest.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Kendrick claimed his first-ever weekly conference honor after playing a vital role in Sacred Heart’s road sweep of the Purple Eagles.

The St. Albert, Alberta native posted a 2.96 goals-against average and a .898 save percentage through two games (2-0-0) at Niagara.

Kendrick was also one of five AHA netminders to record 50+ saves last week, collecting 53 on the road.
