Four AHA netminders named to 2026 Mike Richter Award “Watch List”

Sacred Heart’s Gundarah and Kendrick, RIT’s Krbecek and Bentley’s Swedin were named to the award’s watch list.

BOSTON - Four Atlantic Hockey America (AHA) goaltenders have been named to this season’s “Watch List” for the Mike Richter Award, the Hockey Commissioners Association announced on Wednesday.

Sacred Heart’s duo of freshman Teagan Kendrick and sophomore Ajeet Gundarah, RIT sophomore Jakub Krbecek and Bentley freshman Lukas Swedin were named to the list by the HCA.

TEAGAN KENDRICK
Kendrick boasts a 5-2-1 record through nine games played in 2025-26. The freshman netminder is third in AHA with a 2.27 goals-against average and a .926 save percentage.

The Pioneer is the reigning AHA Goaltender and Rookie of the Month.

AJEET GUNDARAH
Gundarah has been named to the watch list for the second time in his collegiate career. The sophomore netminder has posted a 6-5-1 record in 12 games during the 2025-26 season. The Pioneer is fourth in AHA with a 2.39 goals-against average and is tied for fourth with a .918 save percentage.

JAKUB KRBECEK
Krbecek has posted a 13-7-0 record in 20 games played during the current campaign. The sophomore’s 13 wins are tied for the fifth-most in Division I. Among qualifying AHA netminders, Krbecek’s 1.86 goals-against average, .932 save percentage and 510 saves are all figures that rank as the second-best in the conference.

LUKAS SWEDIN
Swedin has played in 11 games this season and owns an 8-2-1 record. The Bentley freshman leads qualifying AHA goaltenders with a 1.80 goals-against average and a .933 save percentage.

MIKE RICHTER AWARD
According to the HCA, goaltenders must have had a goals-against average of 2.40 or lower and a save percentage of .917 or higher.

Additionally, a committee of voters — made up of a cross section of coaches, administrators, scouts and media — will pare this list down
to approximately a dozen semifinalists within the next three weeks and then ultimately choose a winner from three finalists who
will be announced in April during the NCAA Frozen Four.

Other names may be added for consideration before the first formal vote.
