BOSTON – Bentley’s conference sweep earned the Falcons two Atlantic Hockey America (AHA) men’s player of the week honors, while Army West Point boasts the AHA Forward of the Week for the second week in a row.
PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
Forward of the Week: Brent Keefer, Army West Point (Sr., Colorado Springs, Colo.)
Defenseman of the Week: Alec Leonard, Bentley (So., Toronto, Ont.)
Goaltender of the Week: Lukas Swedin, Bentley (So., Stockholm, Sweden)
Rookie of the Week: Lucas Romeo, RIT (F, Burlington, Ont.)
FORWARD OF THE WEEK
Brent Keefer makes it back-to-back AHA Forwards of the Week from Army West Point, following classmate Barron Woodring (Downers Grove, Ill.) last week. His two goals Friday night at #7/8 Quinnipiac led the Black Knights to a 4-3 overtime victory, their third straight win.
Keefer opened the scoring just 2:38 into the game and capped things off with the overtime winner with just 0:17 remaining. It marked Keefer’s third multiple-point game in four outings this season and third two-goal game of his career.
Keefer leads all AHA players with 1.50 points per game (three goals, three assists in four games) on the season. This marks the third career AHA weekly honor for Keefer, who was Forward of the Week on Jan. 6, 2026, and Rookie of the Week on Jan. 15, 2024.
DEFENSEMAN OF THE WEEK
Alec Leonard tied for the lead among all AHA players with four points on the week (two goals, two assists), highlighted by a career-best two goals and three points in Saturday’s 5-1 win against Robert Morris. He scored the first and fourth goals for the Falcons, the second one coming on the power play, and assisted on the eventual game-winning goal by sophomore Jan Gaspar (Prague, Czech Republic) in the first minute of the third period.
Leonard also led the Falcons with four blocked shots for the weekend and finished with a +2 rating. His seven shots on goal were second on the team.
This marks Leonard’s first career AHA weekly award.
GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK
Lukas Swedin stopped all 30 shots he faced Friday night against Robert Morris, earning his second shutout in just three starts this season. Swedin has yet to allow a goal at home after shutting out Vermont in the season opener on Oct. 9.
Swedin claims Goaltender of the Week honors for the second time in three weeks and it marks his fifth career AHA weekly award.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Lucas Romeo recorded the first two assists of his collegiate career in RIT’s 5-4 victory over RPI on Saturday, assisting on the Tigers’ first and fifth goals in the contest. His second assist was the primary on the game-winning goal with under three minutes remaining in regulation.
Romeo, who had scored goals against UMass and Michigan State, shares the team lead with four points on the season.
This marks Romeo’s first career AHA weekly award.
