AHA Men’s Players of the Week (Jan. 12-18, 2026)

Canisius’s Zacher, Buteau and Clark and Sacred Heart’s Kendrick were honored with AHA weekly awards.

BOSTON - Atlantic Hockey America (AHA) announced its Players of the Week on Tuesday for games played between Jan. 12-18, 2026.

A trio of Canisius skaters were honored alongside one Sacred Heart Pioneer, with one first-time honoree.

FORWARD OF THE WEEK
Zacher earned his second AHA weekly honor of 2025-26 after tying for the AHA lead with three goals last week in two games played.

The Buffalo, N.Y. native played a key role in Canisius’s sweep of then-(RV) RIT as he netted a hat trick on Friday, Jan. 16 in a 5-3 home victory. The junior netted a power play goal and what would eventually serve as the game-winner in the third period.

DEFENSEMAN OF THE WEEK
Buteau grabbed his first-ever weekly conference award after tying the AHA lead in points among defensemen with three (1G-2A) in two games played.

In game one of the Golden Griffins’ sweep of the Tigers, the Montreal, Quebec native added a helper and recorded a multi-point effort in the sweep-clinching victory, with two (1G-1A).

GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK
Clark led AHA netminders last week (min. 33% team minutes played) with a 1.00 goals-against average, and finished third with a .967 save percentage as he helped the Golden Griffins take a sweep at RIT on Saturday, Jan. 17.

In the 4-1 victory on Saturday, Jan. 17, Clark made 29 saves and allowed one goal to then-(RV) RIT.

This marks Clark’s third honor of 2025-26.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
For a second consecutive week, Kendrick has been awarded with AHA rookie honors.

The St. Albert, Alberta native recorded a 2.88 goals-against average, a .921 save percentage and was one of two AHA goaltenders to record 70+ saves (73) as he helped push Sacred Heart to a 1-0-1 record against then-(RV) Bentley.
