AHA Men’s Players of the Week (Jan. 19-25, 2026)

RIT’s Brimmer, Robert Morris’s Elliott and Massie and Canisius’s Buteau were honored with AHA weekly awards.

BOSTON - Atlantic Hockey America (AHA) announced its Players of the Week on Tuesday for games played between Jan. 19-25, 2026.

Three programs were represented with two first-time honorees.

PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
Forward:
Austin Brimmer, SR, RIT (Markham, Ontario)
Defenseman: Dominic Elliott, SO, Robert Morris (Allendale, Mich.)
Goaltender: Lucas Massie, SO, Robert Morris (Claremont, Calif.)
Rookie: FJ Buteau, D, Canisius (Montreal, Quebec)

FORWARD OF THE WEEK
Brimmer led AHA in points last week with four (1G-3A) to collect his first-ever weekly honor in the conference.

The Markham, Ontario native helped RIT collect five of six possible points in a home-and-home series with AHA foe Niagara. In a 4-2 win on Friday, Jan. 23, Brimmer tallied two points (1G-1A). On Saturday, Jan. 24, the senior forward added two helpers, recording his second multi-point effort of the series.

DEFENSEMAN OF THE WEEK
Elliott collected his second-ever AHA weekly honor after tying for the conference lead in points among defensemen with three (3A).

The Allendale, Mich. native tallied two assists in the Colonials’ 5-2 victory over Holy Cross on Friday, Jan. 23. In Robert Morris’s sweep-clinching 1-0 victory, Elliott recorded an assist on the contest’s sole goal.

GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK
Massie was among AHA’s leaders in multiple categories last week to take his first weekly conference award.

Among AHA goaltenders (min. 33% team minutes played), the Claremont, Calif. native tied for the lead in goals-against average (1.00), led in save percentage (.966), recorded one of two shutouts in the league and was second in saves (57).

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Buteau put on a strong showing in Canisius’s sweep of Mercyhurst to earn an AHA honor for the second consecutive week.

The Montreal, Quebec native tied for the AHA points lead among blueliners with three (1G-2A). In game one of the road series against the Lakers (4-3 win), Buteau provided an assist on the game-tying goal in the final frame.

In a 5-0 shutout victory to close out the series, Buteau notched two points (1G-1A).
